SEO is the force behind a company’s online success. Internet marketing is now a billion dollar industry and everyone is slowly but surely accepting this. These are the requirements of a senior level SEO in many big companies in India. But i think even data entry operators will be able to do this if guided appropriately, then why you need a SEO. Companies in India still do not know the power of an SEO and what talent should they possess. SEO is a marketing professional which markets you brand online. It is necessary to understand what a SEO can do and what skills a SEO should have.
SEO Services is not a snake oil business and it requires a huge lot of strategy and hard work to promote a brand online. Inappropriate understanding of SEO has lowered the glory of SEO. Search Engine Optimization is often considered as a collection of few tactics, which when done boosts rankings 
. I personally feel that even SEO should understand that SEO is not about forums posting, spamming emails with link requests and just building a link resource page on website. Only then they can get their glory back.
Inappropriate understanding of SEO has increased spamming, lowered the value of quality content on web and also lowered the concept of usability and adding value to the web.

Of course shradda, you can join as seo. But you should at least gain a basic knowledge about seo first. Basic and real understanding of SEO is most important.
